MessageTo Whom It May Concern, My fiancé and I attended the Lilo & Stitch Fork n Film event at X-Golf on May 23, 2026, and unfortunately, the experience fell far below expectations—especially considering the price point of $230 per ticket. I previously attended a Fork n Film event in New York (Mulan) and had such a positive experience that I specifically wanted to share it with my fiancé. Because of that prior experience, we came in with high expectations for what was marketed as a premium dining and entertainment event. Unfortunately, this experience missed the mark in several significant ways. Upon being seated, the first issue we encountered was cleanliness. Our assigned chair had multiple long strands of hair embedded into the seat cushion. An employee did replace the chair after I flagged it down, but this was an unpleasant first impression in a food-service environment and not what we expected from a premium-priced experience. We also noticed that the water glassware at our table appeared inadequately cleaned, with visible residue/water spotting. My fiancé ultimately wiped his glass himself because the film had already started and we did not want to further interrupt the experience. Shortly after the movie began, the film was accidentally played in French for several minutes before being paused and corrected to English. While mistakes happen, this felt like something that should have been checked prior to the event beginning, particularly at this price point. Additionally, one of the major selling points of a Fork n Film event is the synchronized dining experience. Unfortunately, the timing of the courses frequently felt disconnected from the film, arriving either noticeably early or late relative to what was happening onscreen. This significantly impacted the immersive aspect of the experience. Beyond timing, the experience itself lacked many of the immersive elements we expected based on prior Fork n Film events and the premium ticket price. During my previous experience, there were themed props accompanying courses, visual effects, thoughtfully timed pairings, and specialty cocktails that made the event feel unique and memorable. For this event, aside from a small fishing pole decoration in the tuna sandwich, there were no meaningful themed props or special effects to elevate the experience. Additionally, guests received only one cocktail, which felt underwhelming considering the price point and expectations for a premium immersive dining event. The food itself was also disappointing. The tuna sandwich was not enjoyable for either of us, and the rib dish was extremely fatty with minimal edible meat. The vegetables tasted underwhelming, and while I personally enjoyed the sweet potatoes, the overall menu felt heavily dessert-focused, with limited savory options. My fiancé’s favorite item ended up being the ice cream, though he was disappointed by the very small portion size. To be candid, we left feeling that the overall quality of the event did not align with the premium pricing. Between the cleanliness concerns, technical issues, lack of immersion, disappointing food quality, and timing problems, the experience simply did not feel reflective of a $230 per person event. Afterward, we ended up stopping elsewhere for food because we were still hungry and dissatisfied with the meal. Compounding our frustration, our original Sunday booking was cancelled by Fork n Film, requiring us to rebook for this date. While credits were issued for the ticket cost, I was charged an additional $10 booking fee despite the change resulting from a cancellation on your end. I reached out regarding reimbursement for that fee but never received a response. I am disappointed writing this because I know Fork n Film is capable of creating memorable experiences based on my previous event. However, this particular experience was deeply underwhelming and left both of us regretting the cost. Given the number of issues experienced, I would appreciate your review of this matter and consideration of an appropriate resolution. Sincerely, Elizabeth Maltere

    Hi Elizabeth,

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed and constructive feedback with us.

First and foremost, please accept our sincere apologies that your experience at the Lilo & Stitch event fell so far short of your expectations - especially since you were so excited to share Fork n Film with your fiancé after having such a wonderful time at our Mulan event. We completely understand your frustration, and we want you to know that you are fully heard. We appreciate you being so transparent with us about where we missed the mark.

We take pride in offering a premium, immersive dining experience, and it is clear we failed to deliver that for you both. Your notes regarding the cleanliness of the seating and glassware, the technical language glitch, the disconnected timing of the courses, and the lack of immersive props are incredibly concerning. Furthermore, we are truly sorry to hear that the food quality, portion sizes, and menu balance did not meet our usual standards, and that you both left hungry.

Please rest assured that we are sharing your exact feedback directly with our New York management, culinary, and venue teams so we can address these issues immediately and do better moving forward.

We deeply value your loyalty as a returning guest, and your insights are invaluable in helping us protect the quality of our events. Thank you again for your patience and for helping us improve.

    Warm regards,
    Sam

Re: 🚨 URGENT — Contact (Complaint): Elizabeth Maltere

    Hi Sam,

Thank you for your response and for acknowledging the concerns I raised. I appreciate you taking the feedback seriously and sharing it with your internal teams.

That said, while I appreciate the apology, I do not feel the response adequately addresses the extent of what occurred or the financial impact of the experience. We spent approximately $460 for two tickets expecting the premium, immersive dining experience that was advertised and that I had previously experienced at your Mulan event.

Unfortunately, the event we attended fell significantly below reasonable expectations in multiple areas, including cleanliness concerns (hair embedded in seating and unclean glassware), technical issues, lack of immersive elements and props, poorly timed service, disappointing food quality and portions, and an overall experience that did not reflect the premium price point. We ultimately left still hungry and extremely disappointed.

Given the number and severity of the issues acknowledged in your response, I am requesting a full refund for our tickets. I genuinely wanted to love this event and introduced my fiancé to Fork n Film based on my prior positive experience, which made this outcome even more disappointing.

I appreciate your time and hope we can find a fair resolution.

    Best,

    Elizabeth Maltere
